Permission Matrix

The Permission Matrix gives you fine-grained control over what each role can do. It is split into two sections: Endpoint Permissions, which govern access to API actions site-wide, and Subforum Permissions, which govern what each role can do inside each individual subforum.

Roles

Both matrices use the same three roles:

guest
Unregistered visitors.
user
Logged-in registered members.
admin
Administrators with full site access.

Check a box to grant the permission to that role; uncheck to revoke it. Changes take effect immediately after saving.

Endpoint Permissions

Endpoint permissions control access to individual API actions across the entire site, regardless of which subforum a member is in. Each row is one action — browsing pages, creating characters, managing factions, handling currency transactions, posting, and more.

Use this matrix to answer questions like: can guests browse character lists? or can regular users update currency amounts?

Admin is typically checked for every endpoint. Be cautious when granting sensitive actions (currency management, global settings) to guest or user roles.

Subforum Permissions

Subforum permissions are scoped per subforum — each subforum gets its own block of rows. This lets you have different rules for different boards: guests might be able to view one subforum but not another, or users might be able to post in general topics but not create character topics in a restricted area.

The per-subforum actions available are:

View subforum
Whether the role can see this subforum and its topic list at all.
Post in subforum
Whether the role can reply to existing topics.
Create general topic
Whether the role can start a new out-of-character thread.
Create character topic
Whether the role can create a new character sheet thread.
Create wanted character topic
Whether the role can post a wanted character listing.
Create episode topic
Whether the role can start a new in-character game thread.
Edit own post / Edit others' post
Whether the role can edit their own posts, or posts written by other members.
Edit own topic / Edit others' topic
Whether the role can edit the topic header of their own threads, or others'.
Delete own topic / Delete others' topic
Whether the role can delete threads they started, or threads started by others.
